Walk Wonder Worship

“Walk Wonder Worship'’ was an overnight event, organised by a group of Don Bosco Youth Paschers on the 27th and 28th of July 2026 at Don Bosco Sulcorna. The event was open to all Catholic Youth of Goa. It was exciting to see all the registered participants show up, bringing the total to 33 participants and 10 volunteers.

The participants reported to the venue at 7 pm. They were welcomed with snacks and were assigned their dormitories.

At 7.30 pm, everyone headed to the AV hall to begin the event. Participants were divided into 4 teams and allowed to name their own teams. They chose the following names: Pineapples, Sunset, Chocolate, and Wonders.

They first played a group-wise Bible trivia relay, which tested them on their knowledge of where each book in the Bible belongs. Following this was a bingo game crafted by Andrea, which allowed the participants to mix around, getting to know each other's names in such a way that they had to interact with every other participant. This was followed by a fun game named Curtain Dropped, which challenged them to quickly recall the names of fellow participants.

After the hall was filled with chaos, fun and energy from the icebreaker session, everyone proceeded to a delicious supper at the refectory. There, volunteers and participants socialised as they had their meals.

Post supper, with the pleasant rainy weather, participants and volunteers sat in the corridor and prayed the rosary, meditating on each verse and allowing each group to lead each decade. It was indeed a spirit-filled moment.

After the rosary, each group was given time to prepare for their unique Team March. All the participants put on their creative hats to prepare the same.

Everyone moved to the main hall, with the groups entering with their amazing team marches. Fr. Constantine (Tino) and Noah judged the group based on coordination and creativity, and allocated marks. Next up were action songs where the group danced joyfully. These were followed by a game of “Human Tic Tac Toe”, played by combining the 4 groups into 2 super groups. A short break was given to all, where everyone relaxed and enjoyed some ice cream.

Thereafter, the teams were divided to play 3 different games simultaneously. It included 'Save the President'/’Catch the Killer’, ‘Find the Imposter’, and 'Mafia'. Teams were rotated at regular intervals.

These activities got their minds and feet running. In almost no time after the games ended, we found some playing football and the others dancing their hearts out playing music.

At around 2 am, while some freshened up and proceeded to sleep, others had an amazing time of fellowship, talking, playing Uno, and other games. A small group even stayed up to watch Portugal vs Colombia FIFA match with great excitement.

At 7 am, all rose, got refreshed and ready for the trek. Breakfast was served at 7.30 am at the refectory. Following that, the excited crowd of participants and volunteers proceeded on the trek to the statue of Mary Help of Christians. There, Fr Ian Pinto had a lovely session, incorporating the theme of the event so beautifully. He went with the theme of the liturgy “Abide in Me, Care for My Creation”. He spoke about nature and also about St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of nature. Fr asked the participants to search for objects in nature that resemble each one of them, as an activity right at the end of his session.

This was followed by celebrating the Eucharist, where all the participants were actively involved. Fr asked everyone to come forward and explain about the object that they had collected and offer it during the mass.

Following the mass, there was a Kopel making competition where the team members were given time to collect things from nature and make a unique and creative Kopel. Fr Ian helped in judging the competition while the team flaunted their beautiful Kopels.

The trek continued towards the stream, accompanied by a photography game where participants captured images of nature in alphabetical order. This activity got the participants engrossed with nature, helping them not realise the actual long distance covered during the trek. Heavy rains and cool breeze added to the out-in-the-wild experience.

At the stream, the participants got a reality check of how the environment has been affected by unusual delayed rain, evidenced by no water in the stream area, which used to always be full of fresh water this time of the year. Noah gave us a quick insight into what the next generation will face as consequences of our silent affairs with nature.

Afterwards, the group returned to the dormitory to freshen up and subsequently assembled at the refectory for refreshments. The event ended with the vote of thanks and the announcement of the winners of the event, Team Sunset. The winners were awarded pineapples from the farm.

All present at the event received bookmarks containing quotes from St Francis of Assisi and from the bible, which were based on the theme of this event. The participants left with joyful hearts and happy memories to cherish. It truly felt like this event had a meaningful impact on the participants.
