Déjà Vu 2025: Celebrating Family and Togetherness
On November 22, 2025, Don Bosco Youth Paschers hosted a vibrant Family Day at the Don Bosco Animation Centre in Benaulim, Goa, bringing together Paschers and their families-parents, siblings, and friends, to honour unity, gratitude, and the essence of family. The theme, "Déjà Vu," fostered a spirit of togetherness and helped participants appreciate the spiritual, emotional, and social work carried out by the Salesians for youth and their families.
The event commenced at 5:00 PM with warm registrations, followed by the Holy Eucharist led by the Salesian community of Benaulim. Fr. Simao Fernandes presided over the Mass, and Fr. Edison Fernandes encouraged everyone to consider who holds the most important place in their lives and how they treat others with respect and dignity.
Afterwards, emcees Karen and Galicia coordinated interactive activities, including a lively march and guiding families to their saint-themed tables. The gathering was formally welcomed by Fr. Simao Fernandes, and Fr. Clive Telles, Provincial of the Panjim Province, offered an inspiring address. The event coordinator, Lance, briefed all about the evening! As Angelus was recited at 7 PM, everyone joined in Angelus, led by Jwelancy!
Guests enjoyed hot snacks from food stalls, while the emcees engaged them with games and activities. The young Paschers and their choir band energised the crowd with music and soulful melodies, creating a joyful environment for dancing and mingling across generations. Classic family games like Time Bomb, Pass Through the Eye of the Needle, Housie with a Twist, and Hunt for the Table encouraged everyone to bond and have fun together.
Parental reflections from Mrs. Rosetta and Mrs. Miriam expressed pride in their children and gratitude for the positive influence of Don Bosco and the Salesians on their families. The dinner was blessed by Fr. Simão! Keeping with the Déjà Vu theme, Paschers served food to their parents (fed their parents) and siblings, echoing childhood experiences of family care. Guests watched an animated video showcasing the ongoing work of the Paschers in the province, focusing on spiritual, social, and emotional growth.
The event concluded with Paschers coordinator, Maloma Rebello, expressing thanks to the Déjà Vu committee and all attendees for making the evening memorable. Emcees closed with a hopeful note: “See you all next year for Déjà Vu 2.0!”
