On September 29th and 30th, the Don Bosco Youth Centre, Shirva, hosted the much-anticipated Shirva Deanery Level Camp for Class 9 students. The camp brought together over 105 young participants, creating an atmosphere filled with excitement, enthusiasm, and faith. The camp officially began on September 29th at 9:30 AM with a graceful inauguration ceremony led by Dean of Shirva Fr. Leslie Clifford Dsouza. His powerful message on faith, purpose, and the beauty of youth lit up the room. The inauguration wasn’t just ceremonial it was a call to action for young minds to dream bigger, dig deeper, and build stronger foundations in faith.
Over the two day camp, participants engaged in a variety of thought provoking and inspiring sessions. Each session was tailored to spark reflection and personal growth. Topics included: the Bible and its relevance today, deepening our faith in daily life, understanding the Church and our role in it, exploring religion through a youth lens, career guidance for a value driven future.
Expert speakers and mentors shared wisdom and stories that connected with the students at a personal level, encouraging them to reflect on who they are and who they want to become.
What made this camp truly special was the perfect balance of learning and laughter. Between sessions, students participated in team building games, outdoor challenges, and interactive group activities. From races and relays to trust games and talent showcases, the energy was non-stop. These activities weren’t just fun they were powerful moments where strangers became friends, and confidence bloomed.
As the camp drew to a close on September 30th at 4:00 PM, there was laughter, applause, a few happy tears - and a whole lot of gratitude. What began as a gathering of students from different Churches ended as a family united in spirit.
Everyone left with more than just memories. They left with: new friendships, greater self-awareness, a deeper understanding of their faith. And most importantly, the motivation to step into the future with courage, joy, and hope
