Youth Animation and Formation Programme at St. John Bosco Church, Sirsi, Karnataka

Don Bosco Youth Services Animation Team guided 42 young people of St. John Bosco Church, Sirsi, in a day’s animation programme. The animation team was Alia Colaco, Precious Fernandes and Fr. Austin Fernandes, sdb (DBYS Director).

The day began with action songs and a few icebreakers. Once the participants were at ease, Fr. Austin and his team guided the youth through activities and talk. The main focus of the session was to build a strong Catholic Youth Group in the Church with a strong foundation. In his session, Fr. Austin asked the Sirsi Youth to be rooted in Jesus, have clear communication, sincere trust and openness to correction, knowledge of the Word of God, and leadership that takes all the members together towards a common goal.


Sumptuous meal, brain-wrecking activities and complex team bonding activities brought the youth together to work as one family.




Rector and SYM Delegate Fr. Sandesh asked the youth to work as a parish family, to be regular and active members for the bright future of the local church and personal growth. The presence of Fr. Peter Pinto (Parish Priest) and Fr. Joswin D’Souza (Administrator) added joy to the program.

Inauguration and Formation Program

On August 13th Inauguration and Formation session was conducted for the students of Don Bosco Vocational Training Institute, Quepem The main highlight was the importance of communication: intra communication, interpersonal communication and group communication. Fr. Austin sdb, the Director of the Youth Services shed light on the importance of communication, things to keep in mind and how to get better at communication. In the second part of the session focus was laid to work as a team and grow together.

Youth Pasch 2025: Pilgrims of Hope: Rooted in Love and Service

They said, “ Sir, we want to see Jesus. ” We replied, “ Come and See .”  The Youth Pasch 2025, was organized by Don Bosco Youth Services (DBYS), at Don Bosco Sulcorna from 16th April to 20th April. 46 young people, 12 volunteers and 6 animators started the spiritual endeavor with great enthusiasm and hope in the promises of the Lord. The theme for this year, “Pilgrims of Hope: Marching towards the Promised Land,” captured the essence of the spiritual journey undertaken by each young person present. Rooted in the Catholic tradition of the Holy Triduum, Youth Pasch seeks to help participants walk closely with Christ through His Passion, Death, and Resurrection — not merely as a remembrance, but as a lived experience: the personal encounter with the Lord Jesus.
