Don Bosco Youth Centre Hosts Successful Games Evening in Honor of Saint Dominic Savio.

On  6th July, 2025 at Benaulim, The Don Bosco Youth Centre in Benaulim marked the feast day of Saint Dominic Savio with a spirited Games Evening that brought together 14 youth members for an afternoon of fellowship, competition, and spiritual reflection. The event was held on Sunday at the Don Bosco Youth Centre, commenced at 3:00 PM with a prayer service conducted by Fr. Austin. The opening ceremony featured devotional bhajans led by Fr. Patrick, creating an atmosphere of reverence and community participation.

Fr. Simon, Rector of the institution, delivered the keynote address focusing on the life and virtues of Saint Dominic Savio. His inspiring talk emphasized the saint's exemplary character and encouraged the youth to emulate his dedication to service and spiritual growth. The prayer service concluded with a hymn honoring Saint Dominic Savio.

Following the spiritual component, the program transitioned to recreational activities under the coordination of Fr. Patrick, who led participants in an energizing action song. Fr. Austin then divided the group into two competitive teams: "Team Vamos" and "Team Dukota," captained by Franson and Clare respectively.


The teams engaged in six carefully designed games that emphasized teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition. After spirited participation from both sides, Team Dukota emerged victorious and was presented with a commemorative trophy. The event concluded with a group photograph capturing the camaraderie shared among all participants. 

Fr. Austin commended both teams for their outstanding enthusiasm and exemplary sportsmanship throughout the competition. The success of the event was further enhanced by refreshments generously sponsored by Aaron, for which Fr. Austin expressed sincere appreciation on behalf of the organizing committee.





The Games Evening successfully achieved its objectives of fostering community bonds, celebrating the feast day of Saint Dominic Savio, and providing youth members with meaningful recreational opportunities. Participants departed with a sense of fulfillment and strengthened fellowship.

The Don Bosco Youth Centre continues its mission of holistic youth development through such well-organized events that combine spiritual enrichment with social engagement. Plans for similar future gatherings are already under consideration by the organizing committee.

Inauguration and Formation Program

On August 13th Inauguration and Formation session was conducted for the students of Don Bosco Vocational Training Institute, Quepem The main highlight was the importance of communication: intra communication, interpersonal communication and group communication. Fr. Austin sdb, the Director of the Youth Services shed light on the importance of communication, things to keep in mind and how to get better at communication. Youth Pasch 2025: Pilgrims of Hope: Rooted in Love and Service

They said, “ Sir, we want to see Jesus. ” We replied, “ Come and See .”  The Youth Pasch 2025, was organized by Don Bosco Youth Services (DBYS), at Don Bosco Sulcorna from 16th April to 20th April. 46 young people, 12 volunteers and 6 animators started the spiritual endeavor with great enthusiasm and hope in the promises of the Lord. The theme for this year, “Pilgrims of Hope: Marching towards the Promised Land,” captured the essence of the spiritual journey undertaken by each young person present. Rooted in the Catholic tradition of the Holy Triduum, Youth Pasch seeks to help participants walk closely with Christ through His Passion, Death, and Resurrection — not merely as a remembrance, but as a lived experience: the personal encounter with the Lord Jesus.
