Borvanso amka fotio na” – Hope doesn't disappoint us.

Every year, parishes across Goa come alive with youthful energy as they celebrate their Youth Inaugurals, a cherished tradition that brings together young hearts and hopeful spirits. It’s a time when the youth of each parish step forward with commitment, joy, and purpose, ready to carry the light of Christ into the world. These celebrations are more than just events; they remind us of the power of community, the importance of formation, and the unwavering hope that drives our faith.

On 22nd June 2025, the vibrant spirit of Chandor Parish came alive as around 75 youth members gathered for their annual Youth Inaugural. This much anticipated event was not only a celebration of faith but also a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from unity, enthusiasm, and purpose.

The day began with a deeply spiritual Eucharistic celebration held in the School Hall, presided over by Rev. Fr Afzal Fernandes, Youth Animator of Chandor along with Rev. Fr Austin Fernandes. In a symbolic moment of commitment, the youth processed in and placed their name tags at the altar, offering their willingness to serve.

Following the Mass and a short break, the program transitioned into a unique and engaging seminar led by Rev. Fr Austin Fernandes and his team: Alia Colaco, Franson Coelho, and Precious Fernandes. Unlike conventional sessions, this seminar used interactive games as tools of learning, each followed by insightful reflections from Fr Austin. From puzzle challenges to team-based games, each activity was thoughtfully designed to instill core values such as teamwork, communication, trust, and leadership. The approach was refreshing, and the youth responded with tremendous energy, enthusiasm, and cooperation throughout the day.

The School Hall echoed with laughter, cheer, and shared learning a testament to the deep engagement and bonding among participants. Every moment lived up to the day’s theme: Hope doesn't disappoint us because when hope is lived out through community and joy, it always bears fruit.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks and a closing prayer led by Fr. Afzal Fernandes, marking the end of a fulfilling day. As the youth parted ways minds full of teachings, hearts full of joy, and friendships strengthened – one thing was clear: this was not just a day of fun, but a day of hope in action.
