Don Bosco Youth Services - INP

The youth of St. Joseph Vaz Mass Centre along with the boarders of Don Bosco Boys' Home, Sutgatti, visited the Mother Teresa Old Age Home in Hubli on September 14, 2025. The visit was a part of an outreach initiative to share joy, love, and time with the elderly residents. In preparation for the visit, the youth collected funds to buy thoughtful gifts for the inmates. The group departed from the Don Bosco Academy, Sutgatti campus at 3:15 PM by bus. Upon arrival at the old age home, the group received a warm and heartfelt welcome from the simple and humble nuns who run the home, as well as the elderly residents. The program began with an opening prayer led by Fr. Lionel, the Rector. The boarders performed two dances, and the youth presented an engaging action song to entertain the inmates. On September 4th, something truly special happened at the Don Bosco Youth Centre, Shirva we welcomed the Regional Youth Cross as part of the Jubilee Year celebrations.  The Youth Cross has been traveling from parish to parish, bringing young people together in prayer and reminding us that faith is alive wherever we gather. This time, it was our turn to receive it joyfully from a neighboring church, and the excitement in the air was real.  At 4:00 p.m., around 20 of us youth came together for the Veneration of the Cross. The service was led by Fr. Kiran Nazareth and Fr. Royal Fernandes, who shared inspiring reflections about the meaning of the Cross in our lives. Their words made us pause, think, and truly feel the power of faith.  An hour later, as the celebration ended at 5:00 p.m., we walked away with hearts full of gratitude and a stronger bond of unity. The Salesian Youth Movement had its annual Western Region Leaders and Animators Formation (LAF) Meet for the Provinces of INB and INP at Don Bosco, Benaulim, Goa, from 6th–7th September 2025. The 32 youngsters from Gujrat, Nashik, Pune, Ahmadnagar, Mubai, Karnataka, Goa began the LAF meet with the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Fr. Simao Fernandes SDB the rector and Fr. Constantine Fernandes the Preacher who asked youngsters why they fell in love with Don Bosco and why it is important to keep that love alive. In the afternoon session INP SYM Delegate Fr. Ralin D'souza (INP) highlighted the Unique Leadership the Salesian Ministry offers to Youth and how they can draw maximum out of it with the accompaniment of the Local Salesian Community. The trek to Trinity Beach in the evening brought out the best and creative part of the young leaders.
