Don Bosco School, Oros Hosts Leadership Program for Student Council

Don Bosco School, Oros successfully conducted a Leadership Development Program for its newly elected Student Council members on 7th July, 2025. The session aimed to help student leaders better understand their responsibilities and develop essential leadership qualities through engaging and interactive activities.

The program began with a warm welcome by Fr. Ronald Vaz SDB, Vice Principal of Don Bosco School, who introduced the facilitation team to the student leaders. The session was led by Fr. Austin Fernandes SDB, Director of Don Bosco Youth Services, along with Luke Pereira, Franson Coelho, and Leha Fernandes, who brought energy, insight, and experience to the program. To get the students comfortable and involved, the session started with fun icebreaker activities, creating a friendly and open atmosphere.

The main sessions covered three key topics: What is Leadership?, How a Leader is Built, and How a Leader Should Be. These sessions helped the students understand the real meaning of leadership, the qualities that help build a good leader, and the values leaders should follow - like honesty, responsibility, and teamwork. The discussions were simple, interactive, and allowed students to reflect on their own potential and leadership style.

To make the learning experience practical and enjoyable, the team conducted a variety of games and group activities that focused on coordination, creative thinking, and team leadership. These activities allowed students to apply leadership concepts in real-time, helping them work together, think differently, and solve problems as a team. The enthusiasm and involvement of the students made the session both meaningful and memorable.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Fr. Ronald Vaz SDB, who expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Fr. Austin and his team for their time and effort in conducting such a valuable and interactive session. He also thanked the student council members for their active participation and encouraged them to use what they had learned to lead with confidence, purpose, and a sense of service. This leadership program marked an important step in preparing the students to be responsible and inspiring leaders within the school and beyond.
