Uniting for a Purpose: The Don Bosco Youth Paschers Reunion 2024

The Don Bosco Youth Paschers recently convened for a memorable reunion from May 25th to May 26th, 2024, at the serene Don Bosco Animation Center in Benaulim. With a turnout of 46 enthusiastic Youth Paschers, and dedicated volunteers, the event aimed to strengthen bonds and plan ahead for the Youth Paschers Movement’s future endeavors for the year 2024-2025.

Under the capable guidance of Fr. Austin Fernandes, Director of Youth Services, the reunion unfolded seamlessly. The journey began with a heartfelt prayer led by Fr. Austin and the volunteers, setting a tone of reverence and togetherness. Participants were warmly welcomed, and the purpose of the gathering was clarified, paving the way for fruitful discussions.

The program included moments of spiritual reflections: such as praying of the Rosary, Adoration of the Holy Eucharist and fostering a sense of unity and devotion among paschers. The fellowship dinner was followed by engaging ice-breaking activities that brought smiles to everyone’s faces.

A highlight of the evening was the heartfelt tribute to Fr. Kiran Nazareth, former Director of Youth Services, who was honored with a bookmark symbolizing appreciation for his service. This touching moment marked the official passing of the torch to Fr. Austin, signifying continuity and dedication to the Youth Paschers Movement.

The night pilgrimage at the shrine of St. Joseph Vaz helped the youth paschers to share their testimonies, a journey filled with reflection and spiritual renewal. Upon return, Fr. Constantine Fernandes SDB,  conducted a short and thought provoking session emphasizing the importance of unity and the transformative power of personal experiences. The participants shared in their own group their stories, which helped them to understand the wisdom of God working miracles in their lives, deepening their bonds and expressing gratitude for the wisdom shared.

The night buzzed with energy as participants engaged in lively activities, including action songs, games, and heartfelt testimonies shared around a bonfire. Fr. Austin was honored with a cake, a token of appreciation for his invaluable leadership and guidance.

After a brief rest, Paschers gathered for a morning Mass presided over by Fr. Simao Fernandes, Rector of Don Bosco, Benaulim, renewing their spirits for the day ahead. The day continued with the important task of electing committee members, ensuring the effective leadership of the Youth Paschers Movement for the year ahead. As the reunion drew to a close, Fr. Austin expressed his gratitude to all present, urging them to carry forward the spirit of camaraderie and enthusiasm into the future. With hearts full of gratitude and minds buzzing with ideas, participants bid farewell, cherishing the memories created and looking forward to the journey ahead.
